« I met Peter Schönwald and Frédérique Bachellerie for the first time in 1980 in their Paris studio. I had had the opportunity to admire different tapestries from other artists which they made and I immediately understood that something had changed in the world of tapestry. We were no longer in front of an insipid and flat reproduction, but in front of an artist’s work of interpretation, where the spirit was respected and this thanks to the incredible varied technique: the wool is mixed in with the silk, the linen, and even with paper.
Since then, Peter and Frédérique have made more than thirty tapestries for me. »
